Board-Certified Child & Adolescent Clinical Psychologist and Trauma-Focused CBT Therapist
ABOUT ME
My approach, background, and training.
Welcome to my practice. I'm a clinical psychologist with advanced training in both child and adolescent psychology and trauma and stressor-related disorders. I'm Board-Certified in Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychologists. I am aware that therapy depends, first and foremost, on the quality of the therapeutic relationship and alliance. We will work together to discover what the the underlying cause(s) are of your or your child's distress and think about how we can equip you to work through and process those difficult feelings and thoughts in a genuine, meaningful, and authentic way.
I completed my postdoctoral training in trauma, dissociation, and stressor-related disorders at Sheppard Pratt's Trauma Disorder's Program and a residency in child and adolescent psychotherapy and assessment at the Center for Cognitive Therapy and Assessment. I'm currently a staff psychologist at Kennedy Krieger Institute, a Johns Hopkins University affiliate teaching hospital, in the Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress. My advanced training in trauma and PTSD informs my work in psychotherapy and assessment with clients of many ages, stages of life, and cultural backgrounds. I am nationally certified in Trauma-Focused CBT and trained psychodynamically at George Washington University. I bring warmth, sincerity, an understanding of context, and humor to the work.
In addition to providing psychotherapy and psychological assessment, I provide clinical supervision at Kennedy Krieger Institute and for the George Washington University Professional Psychology Program.
